Really? I don't use twitch at all so I don't know how it works, but I didn't think simply posting a restricted word would get you banned. That's pretty weak.

This seems silly but its probably to stop dumb five year olds from giving out their families phone numbers and addresses to pdf files

It absolutely was, as well as to stop questions of 'asl' by predators who bought those Beanie-Babies-with-e-mail. And possibly to curtail gambling that was something prohibited in theirTOS. I was in my late teens or twenties when they came out so it should have been solidly after my time, but I bought one because I worked at a retailer where I had to listen to the theme song for about twenty hours a week and got brainwashed. They were actually sort of cute.

It was all pretty cute, but the chat aspect freaked me out as an adult and as a person trying to engage in whimsy. I tried using it once to tell a kid they were playing one of the Flash games wrong, but I couldn't get out a message without using banned words. Which, like, is fine; I don't mind getting all the Pointz and I don't need to make friendly with kids, but it didn't feel fair.
