At every other place I go to, the sign says they close at 11:00 PM, but they'll close at 10:50 PM, or 10:30 PM. There's a McDonald's in a Walmart I occasionally go to when I'm nearby. They got a whole remodel and change of staff. All the people I know are gone, and in their place is whole new management. They start putting the chairs up on the tables at 8:00 PM. They'll close the gate around 10:30 PM and start mopping around the customers' feet. I never leave early, and am (usually) happy to stay a few minutes late, because I like the money more than my time. the owner regularly leaves early if it's dead (though usually no more than 15 minutes), because he has kids and a wife who has a busy work schedule. but if there are people, he won't kick them out until close, or even a few minutes past if he's not getting the leash pulled. but that's a small business. chains will rarely let the staff close early or be willing to pay employees to stay late. --- Boom!
