It's not a natural sound for someone who grew up speaking Japanese. My issue is that I never would have had a problem if Aeris went the way of Tina and Butz and Atma Weapon or even my eponymous Master Pug, so long as the retranslation was an improvement. Aerith is not: it both looks and sounds inferior. Spelling / pronouncing it Aerisu in the English version would have been a much more acceptable alternative.
