I cant even leave my pets food out for ten minutes without them being all over it. Ive tried a bunch of traps but I dont really wanna use any crazy chemicals near my pets :(
This building is old as fuck so patching up every little hole isnt really an option.

any of yall had a bad ant problem like this?

Call terminx I think it is, then sign up for the yearly plan, and cancel after the first treatment.

I think that is the right company.

Anyway, it's like $60 normally if you just pay for 1 treatment, but if you get the yearly plan, they charge you $30 a month for a year, and come out every month.

The guy who came out for us told us that we could just cancel before the second treatment if the ants went away (this was quite a few years ago). He was cool, and also because the ants were only outside (a few had come in through a drain). I don't like bugs and am very pro-active.

Anyway they treat them with something that goes back with the ants to the nest and kills them all, so you should only need 1 treatment, and doing it that way is only like $30....so worth it.

I sprayed the outside of my house a couple times and they just stopped coming in.

Nothing else worked for me. Get an outdoor bug poison and spray the whole side of your house where they crawl in with it. If they came back, I sprayed it again, until they never showed up again. You should be able to find their little paths pretty easily.

Getting rid of any plants or vines touching your house they use to crawl on helps as well.

Make a solution of borax and sugar water and dip cotton balls or balled up paper towels in it and leave a few around their trails. Try to follow as close to their source of entry as possible.

They will probably swarm it in a frenzy but leave it over night and put out new ones the next day until you don't see anymore.

Kill them all one by one

You need to clean anywhere the ants are. Their is some kind of food source that you are not aware of. When you find it, clean it up and put an ant trap or some kind of bait for ants in it's place. Follow them and find where they are getting in and place some more ant traps or bait.

Make sure to block the traps in a way to not block the ants, but to block the pets.

Then you just have to wait a couple days or so. When the old food source is gone they will go to the traps and take the bait inside back to the colony. Eventually they will be killed and gone.

This has worked for my mom and my dad.

My mom once had dog food that spilled and one kibble was hidden under some object. The kitchen was swarming with ants. I followed the method above and they were gone 3 days later.

Also make sure to use fresh new ant traps as they tend to expire after 3 months from open or purchase.

Then do a thorough cleaning of the place after they are gone.

I actually did this. There was a huge cluster of ants outside because of the rain, and I didn't want to poison them because of the butterflies, so I sprayed them with lighter fluid and tossed in a match.

Flash fried bugs!

Terro Ant Killer. It's basically borax and sugar syrup. You could mix it up yourself if you wanted to.

Ants go nuts for the stuff. They slurp it all up then take it back to their nest where they share it with the queen and the rest of the colony. It's pretty much harmless to humans and animals unless consumed in vast quantities, but for ants it interferes with their digestive system.

I swear by Combat Max Ant Killing Gel. It's never failed me. Kill the entire colony with almost no effort! Just keep it away from where bees may get it.

My cats have never shown any interest in it, which is a bonus.
