I just finished what's been released, and it met and exceeded by expectations. Thankfully, even though Netflix cut it in two, it ends on a very reasonable point in the story, and could easily be seen as the end of a first season. As always, Netflix has dumped a highly anticipated anime series half a year late with zero fanfare, and absolutely zero chance of gaining traction or popularity, regardless of it's quality or how much peope were looking forward to watching it before they licensed it and held it in Netflix jail. Netflix didn't even bother tweeting about the release, not even the account specifically designed for thisntype of content. Most people who were greatly anticipating it just ended up pirating it anyways months ago, so they weren't here to spread the word either. The speaking voices for the characters are in Japanese, but they got all English-speaking people to do the songs. The vocal performances are stellar and the animation is so fluid it's beautiful. ~~Please tell me Ertigun or whatever gets punched in his face somewhere down the line. What a jackass.~~ I don't really know what to make of the other characters so far. Angela seems stuck up and yet I kind of feel sorry for her. I like Carole's style but neither her nor Tuesday have shown much personality so far. I guess I find Tuesday's timidity a little cute but I'm not super attached to anyone so far. Their voices though... I'd marry Tuesday's voice, and then I'd cheat on it with Carole's. And yes I know every singer's voice is provided by an actual indie singer already. It's also being produced by the same team as Land of the Lustrous, one of my favorite anime series of the last decade and a wonderful adaptation. Music stayed fantastic throughout, some points of the plot/characters I feel are a LITTLE questionable at times but nothing outlandish and doesn't ruin the quality of the show in general. Also I feel like I can't judge some of these too harshly anyway because the show technically isn't done, Netflix is just stupid. I appreciate them making Angela into a somewhat sympathetic character because she was starting to grate. Both Carole and Tuesday have grown on me now.
