I couldnt really see a cop helping anyone in an emergency. Maybe on rare occasions. Calling 911 can still be good though, as paramedics and firefighters do help people.

What? No. I was having an attack of some sort on the street while homeless a year or 2 ago and someone called for me and the paramedics came. And they even told me I could talk to them, and theyre not the police so they wont hurt me.

And when my family member died suddenly and his gf called the firefighters were the first to get there. The cops showed up too but the firefighters had already established that it was a medical emergency and they didnt need to murder anyone.

What is the alternative to the police? Alternative to the government?

Revolution is the desired alternative but where I live, a big city, the alternative is a street gang or gangs that serve as the competing power structure that is NOT founded on the idea, however unfaithful it may actually be in practice, of serving the people

The government is the lesser evil and all a revolution will do is create a different set of marginalized people

Im not looking to give myself an image, just sick of police abuse and brutality.

You know what happened when the police beat my ass for no reason? All the good cops jumped in to help the guy who started it all. Then they sat around and didnt say anything while he wrote me up a ticket even as blood streamed down my face.

Luckily I had citizen witnesses who werent shitty cop bastards who may be good but will always defend the few bad cops.

they're not heroes. they're not villains. they're the State's revenue collectors. they're loyal to the State, not you. the State is the government, and the government wants your money.

the blue wall of silence and all of that police Brotherhood shit is gang rhetoric. it's ingrained into the culture, and some take that more seriously than others. those who take "serve and protect" too literal end up being on the outside of the wall... like the NYPD 12.
