But I can't explain why DOOM is just one of those experiences that is PERFECT when you have a good buzz going on. Games I have felt similarly about are: Dark Souls 1 & 3 Half Life Metal Gear Solid 3 And driving games are a blast when you're drunk so GTA V. I'm SO PUMPED for DOOM Eternal! I remember putting together my first PC, which also happened to have the specs to run Doom3 at max settings, and just nerding the fuck out on that game. Doom 2016 is better, for sure, but the atmosphere and creepiness of Doom3 is better imo.
