I'm starting at a new school and will be teaching 8-12th graders (my principal dumped an 8th grade class on me at the last second). I think I'm ready for it. The school is high-poverty, and mostly white (so basically the opposite of me). The guy I replaced was also there for like 25 years and the students were thrilled that I replaced him, lmao. We were back all last week for prep and professional development, but tomorrow is when the kids first arrive. I don't think there is much worthwhile overlap between the Alberta curriculum and the US curriculum, lol.
