I was a big fan of the show and remember her for sure, she died doing what she loved her entire life, unfortunate to pass as such a young age. RIP.

I feel like "she died doing what she loved" is a pretty hollow statement when her final moments were probably sheer horror that something was going terribly wrong.

I think the intent is that plenty of people die not getting to find and practice their passion. Jessi did, which is a good thing. People are taking a positive from a tragedy.

This could apply to every single instance of this then, and it should never be spoken again. Steve Irwin died doing what he loved, but in the moment he had a manta ray stinger lodged in his chest, i'm sure he wasn't saying "Oh BOY this is a lot of fun!"

Sometimes it's just best to find the positive in a negative situation. I'd rather not say "That's a shame, I bet she died horribly and it was a miserable way to go" that doesn't help anyone or anything.

On one hand you aren't wrong, I'm sure there wasn't anything particularly pleasant about her actual death, but when your job description is to get into experimental cars and try to go faster than any one ever, it's absolutely an end you have to be aware of and comfortable with or you wouldn't keep doing it.

I'm sure if told her, that she could be guaranteed to live to 100 so long as she never raced again, she'd turn down that deal in a heart beat.

Dying usually sucks, if you love doing dangerous shit it's gotta be slightly better to die doing that than like getting stabbed by a mugger or something.

She could've lived a safe life doing mundane safe things. But that's not Jessi Combs. She lived life doing what she loved, if that meant risking her life; she gladly did it.

It sucks what happened, everybody is going to miss her. But she got to live her life on her terms, the way she wanted. She knew what could've happened, and this is just the sad outcome.

She'll be missed by all her fans and those who knew her. I'm sure the MythBusters hosts are super sad right now.

At the very least, it wasn't for very long. Likely not even plural moments.

Go look up Gordon Smiley's crash. Combs was likely going twice as fast.

Do we know what the accident entailed?
Only that her Jet Car attempting to break the land speed record had some sort of Mishap, the details are still being investigated.

Did Kari stop hosting? I basically forgot about the show and stopped watching the last few years. The last I knew Kari, Grant, and Troy? were all still the "B Team" hosts. Then I remember hearing they were let go and then like two years later the show ended. I never saw and honestly never even heard anything about a female host other then Kari.

Kari was pregnant during season 9 so Jessi Combs filled in for Kari.

Personality wise I agree but she was the best welder they had by far and probly as good a builder as Kari if not better.
