My vote is no more Fire Emblem characters but Edelgard for Smash is what i keep seeing people spam around.

The only thing that changed is some of the chapel got knocked down.

Pretty low effort time skip.

I can't wait to find out Dedue isn't actually dead so that i can have a physical tank again.

Well, i mean, he better not be dead since he basically stole a couple items including my only move + accessory.

I don't know if its the difficulty curve or the lack of Dedue but I have to take combat seriously again for the first time since the first few battles of the game.

Playing on Hard/Classic too (and the Black Eagles FWIW) I recall a bit of a bump in difficulty after the timeskip such that I couldn't just mindlessly move my squishier units like I could in late Act 1 because Silver Weapons everywhere and Attack Speeds became such that you could definitely be one round KO'd if your mages couldn't OHKO on the counter... and then even when they do you'd be in trouble if there was more than one enemy coming.

The difficulty never quite climbed to challenging but it definitely halted and rebounded from becoming mindless which was the trajectory it would have been on pre-skip.

With how many uses of Biteza Dusto you can get, I never really had much difficulty.

Well, yeah, Divine Pulse is always there to back you up, and you increase the per battle count for it to 13 so even when mistakes happen you can have a very big margin of error, but in my experience it was undeniable that enemies became notably more formidable after the timeskip.

Yeah, the difficulty curve is really strange. It spikes a bit at the beginning of the time skip (and at least for GD, a little bit on the last few levels) but it never really approaches what it was like for the first few levels of the game outside of a couple paralogues.

That's probably because if you do paralogues and have any of the exp +5% statue bonuses, you'll be overlevelled a lot.

The story battle, despite a seemingly overwhelming amount of enemies, was actually easier than all the auxiliary battles.

Part of me wanted to back Dimitri but I feared running into a bad end scenario(You could literally throw his lines onto WC3 Arthas and you wouldn't be able to tell they came from a different character).

I could not find a way to kill the Death Knight with Caspar in that paralogue.

My options were suicide someone into the Death Knight or kill the Death Knight in one shot with Lysithea.

There was no "weaken the death knight for Caspar" option on the table.

The robots in that paralogue looked scary. I think I -maybe- could have fought them but it was fun to sneak a group up the left and a group up the right.

Also this game is worrying me because I have had multiple joycon issues while playing. A few times where my right stick just randomly decided to shut off and on and then one issue of my left stick just deciding it was permanently tilted up despite not being touched.

I had constant issues with my right joycon disconnecting too. So, at the very least that isn't just you. It definitely wasn't behaving like that when I last played on my Switch with XB2: Torna.

I didn't use any on my Black Eagles run because I'm too much of a hoarder yeah. On Blue Lions I dumped a bunch on Bernadetta because why not.

had to do a lot of toying with the RNG because Claude had RNG'd a crit on Byleth and there was nothing i could do to avoid Claude hitting him.

Not entirely sure what the conditions are to change hit/crit RNG but killing an extra unit before turn end seemed to do it.

We did not try Divine Pulse for that one and she had no special powers to hack her way out of that. Storytelling has gotten a lot lazier post time skip.

I finally have a ton of money so i have put in considerable time maxing everyone's supports with Byleth(Even the bench). Should speed up the rest of the days.
