I'm 28 years old and I've been called a total of 6 times to do jury duty. Basically every 2 years, but I learned from my Senior Manager, who's 58 years old, and he never got a letter once. Like what the actual fuck.

Six times is crazy. I've been called once (just turned 33) and ended up not having to go because the case was settled out of court or whatever.

I assumed that the case would be extremely boring, but I still kind of wanted the experience of doing it.

Me too, I got a call almost every year from age 18 to 26, then it finally stopped

One time I told them I didn't live in that county anymore, and they cancelled it

One time I wasn't in the country and wouldn't be back for two months. They really fought against that one.

Another time I had to go in, got really close to being selected so when the judge asked me a question I said "oh yeah I know all about this law, I think it's BS, I would never follow it myself, I think it's a dumb law" and just like that I got replaced

fuck jury duty, give that to retired people

I mean all 6 times I got dismissed, but it's still pretty annoying having to take time off from work to simply sit around and do nothing. Hell it was hard for me to sleep there because the chairs are so uncomfortable.
