Ubisoft has this thing where a game is a good idea but the actual final game is just OK. So right now I have this weird thing where my expectations are high and at the same time low.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs more however I still liked Watch Dogs 2. It's not a bad game at all.

So I'm enjoying so far. I feel like the characters are...cliche? forced? I dunno but it the feeling went away after playing it a while. I want an irl mask like Wrench's.

I feel the same way, however borrowed the second one from my brother and it was remarkably more enjoyable.

Don't take that as an endorsement, though. I'm glad I didn't buy the game. While I liked it better than the first entry, I never bothered to finish it and it still isn't a game I'm itching to revisit any time soon

You know how when Ubisoft does the gameplay thingys at e3 for their online games and the banter just sounds...scripted or off or something? That's what I felt when I played through the first "tutorial" mission of this game. I warmed up to the characters over time though. But some of the dialogue still sounds odd or off.

i installed the trial and played for like 10 min and got off. it takes the gameplay from part 1 and improves on it by a lot. so gameplay wise, it is a better game than the first. just wasn't my game.

I think it's what happens when a bunch of French Canadian boomers try to figure out how people aged 19-27 talk and act, but their only exposure is a couple hipsters at their studios and what some corporate social media head digs up on the front page of reddit.

I liked WD2 quite a bit. The main character actually had a personality instead of just being brooding throughout the game although the rest of the supporting cast felt like stereotypes or parodies of what they were supposed to be. I'm not normally an online kind of guy but the online portion of the game was a blast too.

I someone had an online experience out of nowhere in that game. Just playing the game, then I had to find someone hacking me.

I actually really like Wrench. I liked Josh after he learned what cornhole meant.

This game got a lot better once you start getting more skills to use. I do think it's lame that you can't move enemy bodies around after they are knocked out or are dead. I also don't like how flashy the melee attack is.

I think I'm getting closer to the end. There's lot of side missions that can be done and various other things to get/collect. I need to see if there's a stat screen that lists all the crap I've collected.

And, finished. The post game seems like something I won't ever play so I'm done with it like GTAV and Just Cause 3.

Didn't like the first one due to some of the collectibles being hidden in mission areas where you couldn't go back for them if you missed them the first time. And there were some things that could only be unlocked from the online modes. Haven't played the 2nd one yet.

For this game, for me it's similar to GTAV in that the post game is kinda terrible. This game's post game I felt was actually worse that GTAV's though. I would have played more of the post game just to buy everything but there's no way to make a lot money quickly.

But that just means I'm done with the game and can move on to something else.

I could never take Watch Dogs seriously, because the main character of the first game seemed so utterly lame, and the main characters of the second game basically came across like 4chan.

I dunno about 4chan but the problems with the characters are the same issues I have with other Ubisoft games I've played. They take these things that have a culture about them and instead of researching that culture it feels like they just try to guess the things they do and insert things that are "cool" so a normal person might pick up the game.

Oh, and another thing I wanted in this game was better hacking abilities. Mainly with things like money making. I said it in my last post but I really would have played more of the post game if there was a way to just make tons of money consistently. I mean, Dedsec supposedly took down the head of a multi-billion dollar corporation. There's no way they wouldn't siphon at least a million bucks for each member of Dedsec...Yet the way to make money in this game is to walk around stealing money from innocent passerby and in dangerous areas where the money bag is guarded by gangs.

Agreed. Marcus grown on me but he's no Aiden Pearce. Still given how some folk felt the first Watch Dogs was boring it's no shock Ubisoft went to the other end of the scale. Watch Dogs Legion however seems to be going back to the gritty vibe thankfully.
