That's such a weird story.

When I saw his reactions to smash announcements they felt super exaggerated and fake. It's troubling to realize that some people acting super excited on youtube can actually be deeply unwell.

It's troubling that people on youtube can feel pressured to put on such a faux persona.

Most "reaction" people exaggerate for effect. It's why their thumbnails are.... "emotive"?

Like if it's a video of someone dying(In a movie/game) that they weren't super attached to they'll be crying when the more standard reaction is something like "Oh, that sucks."

*Ahem*

That aside, being forced(or pressured at least) to wear a mask isn't YouTuber exclusive. S lot of people hurting pretends otherwise for their own reasons.

That's the shitty thing about depression. It's invisible and can make you really good at hiding your pain, some people hide it until it's too late. It's better to be open about your feelings, but I can speak from experience that sometimes it's easier and more convenient to pretend nothing is wrong. Sometimes you have to in order to avoid trouble, problem is you're still battling those inner voices.

I've struggled with depression too, and part of the trouble honestly is that even when you are 100% honest and needing change the steps to actually change don't seem to exist.

People say "go to a therapist" but in my experience only like 1/3rd of them are actually quite helpful.

I'm finally in a decent place myself, but it's unfortunate how long getting better takes even after you are super open and ready to.
