You can upgrade to the one with almost double the battery life and a slightly better screen for $75

Plus, you know, new Joy Cons

I mainly did it because the joycons with my original system are basically unusable at this point, and a pair of joycons basically offsets the cost of upgrading.

I'd consider this if the old Switch consoles weren't permanently hackable. If I ever upgrade, I'll keep my old one for homebrew purposes.

The problem is, the only way to hack them is to literally open up the system and solder the CPU

The latest switch firmware allows transfer of all saves, accounts, etc from one system to another. The only thing you have to do again is redownload digital purchases from the eShop

Not with mines. All I needed was aluminum foil. Lol

Though all I did with it was edit my Splatoon 2 save file.

Tempting, but I really don't play it nearly enough portable for that to be worth it.

It's almost worth it to get non shit Joycons if they fixed them.

If you only use it as a handheld, the new Switch has better battery life than the Switch Lite. And the joycons can be replaced if they break.

The website usually factors that into the trade price listed though. Did that stop with the revamp?

I actually had to go back cause I didnt have the damn wrist straps that came with the thing
She wouldn't even let me buy a pair and give them to her or take off the price from trade in credit.

Which is stupid cause you can trade it in without all the boxes and manuals just fine idk

It does support higher clockspeeds but I'm pretty sure it's hard-underclocked.

To be fair, that's why it's so much more power efficient.

Lmao, where do you get your information from?

As I said yesterday, the clockspeeds are the same and it's always underclocked to lower speeds. The reason it has better battery is because it uses way lower voltage because it's a new generation of chip. It's not better because it's underclocked.

Operating voltages are indeed reduced, and while CPU and GPU frequencies supported by t210 are retained, faster clocks are also available. The GPU limit of the Tegra X1 - specced at 1GHz but with a max 921MHz on Switch - is increased to 1.267GHz on the new processor.

Yes, the clockspeeds are the same. It just has a higher ceiling because it's a new generation of chip.

It still runs at 384 and 768. Running at max by overclocking to 921 through homebrew has bizzare side effects, so it's not officially used by anything on the Switch.

What does "hard-underclocked" mean to you and how does something running at the same exact 384 and 768 from the original model means the following:

"To be fair, that's why it's so much more power efficient."

I'm simply telling you it's because of the lower voltage, not anything to do with being underclocked.
