Every episode I have seen was genius, but not genius enough for me to get invested

From what I saw of it, I'd classify it in what I call the "stoner stupid" category. ie, the sort of lolrandumb shows that used to be pretty common on Adult Swim, where they were fully aware that a large part of their audience consisted of stoners up too late, so you'd get comedy that was probably hilarious if you were high off your ass but was lame, stupid, and kind of pointless if you weren't.

12 oz. Mouse is the other show like that I remember being a thing.

they lost all their writers in the 2nd season or something i dunno, but the animation is better

I don't have to be high to enjoy a weird show. If anything it gives me a weird high.

I wouldn't watch it while high, it'd probably be too weird.

The Xavier show reminds of a weird schizo state, the main character thinks he has some higher purpose in life and he's constantly trying to find reasons why.
