Mind you he was actually being really respectful and talked about her being really cool with sports. He never used her former profession to demean her. She just completely flipped out. I understand some in the industry might get second looks and I might sound harsh but she has got to own it.

There is a high proportion of mental health issues in porn compared to other careers. If this is what she needs to do to help herself through then fair enough. The other porn stars reactions... I dont really know what to think. If youre working in a business thats slowly killing your soul and destroying you as a human then I guess Id be vocally against anything that reminded me about that. Thats just human nature.

I think this is overly simplifying the issue.

Many people do porn because they have to, not because they want to. As mentioned previously there is a massively high proportion of mental health issues with porn workers compared to other careers. It can and it does destroy lives. Some people are just better at hiding it than others. Quick cursory google on porn star breaks down will show you the darker side of the industry. Ive seen some videos where the women are clearly being mistreated and not enjoying it but dont feel they have the power to do or say anything about it.

On the the flip side no one (I hope) is going to deny Weinstein is a piece of shit. He took advantage of women who wanted to get ahead in the business. Effectively pressured them into sexual acts to further their career.

Lets not paint a picture of porn is ok and sex for career progression is bad because lets face it the world isnt that black and white and there are a lot of dark shit on both sides that rely on people having no choice having sex to progress their career.

Its just one of them is a regulated profession the majority of people on here probably benefit from and the other is one man being a dirt bag.

I actually place them on a pedestal FAR above myself and I consider it a respectable line of work, and I think the "women who fuck a lot of men are sluts" double standard is bullshit. Because as you said they are arguably the most famous of their profession outside Jenna Jameson. That's why I find it funny how people kept milking Khalifa's status as the 'number 1 rated pornstar' She was only famous because of her hijab controversy and it only lasted a couple of months
