So you all can play it again and experience it all over again.

Except for that "ok?" poster, I wouldn't give him a glass of water even if he was drowning.

I sometimes wonder if I'd be able to enjoy some of my favorite things again if I only now experienced them for the first time, particularly given that I'm not sure what other influences I've experienced since my initial play would color my expectations, etc. Some of the games I love now and have repeatedly replayed might not feel the bring that same level of enjoyment again.

It's kind of like how I enjoyed quite a few older horror films but I don't think I'd have that same appreciation if I hadn't first watched them while I was half-asleep. Or if I watched the Twilight Zone after seeing countless stories which were inspired by (or blatantly ripped off) the show or were inspired by the same stories. I'd likely still feel that they were great tellings of the stories -- perhaps the best tellings -- but it wouldn't hold that same spark.

I can't imagine what that might be.

I didn't actually fully appreciate my favorite game until the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs, but I kept coming back to it because there was something in there that spoke to me and I wanted to pin down exactly what I felt about it. It wasn't until hitting the ending a second time that I started realizing just how great the game was, and throughout the third run I was hooked and have loved the game ever since.

That said, I'm older now... I think I'd recognize it right away if I played it for the first time at this age... that it was the game for me.

Nah because that'd make me forget a lot more than just the game since I generally like to keep experiencing it outside of the game, like listening to soundtracks, exploring the lore and so on.
