Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has SLAMMED Trump for blaming the 2 deadly mass shootings on video games stating it is disrespectful to the families!!

The company behind the popular Grand Theft Auto called the gun violence "uniquely american" but said "entertainment is consumed world-wide" and "we're just sickened and saddened by these senseless tragedies. That said, blaming entertainment is irresponsibe. Moreover, it is highly disrespectful to the victims and their families. The fact is entertainment is consumed worldwide but gun violence is uniquely America.. So we need to address the real issues"

The president and other conservative pundits are shifting the blame on the internet, social media, computer games and "mental illness" for the shootings

Trump used a White House address to the nation to outline the causes of mass murder and accused several outelts including the internet for providing a "dangerous avenue" for twisted minds and said its time to stop glorifying violence in society and pointed to the "gruesome and grisly" video games

He said "It is too easy today for trouble youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We must stop or substantially reduce this and it has to begin imediately"

Take-Two who publishes GTA and Red Dead Redemption and those behind Call of Duty and Battlefield saw losses in their stock

A spokesman for the ESA said "More than 165 million Americans enjoy video games and billions of people play video games worldwide. Yet other societies where video games are played as avidly, do not contend the tragic levels of violence that occur in the US"

God of War director Cory Barlog said "Wait..that's it? Violent video games and mental health? Not the high powered weapons of war beig sold to civilians by the millions that are actualy being USED to carry out these acts of domestic terror?"

House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy said that games "dehumanize individuals" and lamented video games calling it a problem for future generations citing unnamed sources that shows what it does to individuals

Texas Lt. Gov Dan Patrick also poitned the finger at video games stating it teaches young people to kill

Republicans are steering away the conversation of white supremacy and guns to video games and the internet to avoid any gun legislation

In 2017, Pew Research Centre found that 30% of Americans believe that gaming contributed to a "great deal" of gun violence and last year Trump hosted video game industry cheifs to discuss ways to tone down the violence after the Parkland shooting in Florida.

If you're going to allow all citizens the right to carry guns then you have to deal with the fact that people are going to shoot each other when they feel disgraced or cornered. In the rest of the world we use our fists and everyone (usually) lives after the altercation. #SuperiorEvolution
