Hello everyone and long-time-no-see! I have an ongoing blog called The Breakups Project where I write about the transformative power of breakups in our lives. I've just completed a new post that will particularly resonate with those of you familiar with gaming--which, honestly, is why I'm sharing it here on Board 8! If you've ever had your world turned upside down by relationship loss, this post is for you. Please share this when anyone you know who has ever loved and lost if you think it may benefit them in some way. There will be more posts to come (and eventually a book). Thanks! I had no idea this random blog posting on b8 to get more advertising money was actually a deep cut of someone's life. Good thing it has an rpg background or I would have had no grounds for relating to it.

I don't get any money from it. I'm writing about it because I care about the work. I make my living being a therapist, but the writing isn't monetized at all currently.

Also, I posted here because I used to be a regular here for almost a decade starting in, uhh, 2002? 2003? And yes, I figured some gamers might appreciate this! We used to post breakup stories all the time on this board!

I edited my post above, first off, just as a heads up, about why I posted on B8.

Re: money, I honestly don't know yet. I specialize in relationship and sex therapy as a therapist and have always imagined that would be my point of focus as a clinician. After my own divorce, I started developing a niche in breakups and divorce and started to interview individuals about breakups for an eventual book (and actually, one person I interviewed in person was actually from Board 8). I now offer it as a specialty in my practice. The blogging is because I care about the work. If any money comes from it, it might eventually be through writing a book and just potentially having some crossover with the blog, or maybe a stray client or two that might happen to choose to work with me over another therapist because of what I write on the blog. Otherwise, I don't really see the blog itself being a point of revenue. I guess that could change in the future, but right now it's more of a passion project motivated largely by the absurd lack of education most people have around breakups. That motivation has always been the core of most of my work as a sex therapist as well.

Perhaps I'm taking your post too seriously and you're just trolling, but yeah! That's the gist of it.
