Well it takes forever to heat up but that also means it stays hot forever, so you can get it up and put food on it and it'll keep the food warmer longer. Also it doesn't technically need to be washed ever. I will probably scrub it with some warm water anyway but for most cases you can get a damp towel and just wipe it down. Also you can use it as a cutting board and you can cut food on it while it's cooking. You can't really scratch it.
