I don't know what an openning is but the best opening so far is the one for battle tendency.

Chases only sin is being introduced too early and being phased out too late.

It is the perfect fit for the tone and atmosphere of the arc its supposed to be depicting.

Its dark and shifts through melancholy and angry, its the voice of someone who is witnessing the degradation of a once happy and nostalgic home, who realizes the existence of the agent of that destruction, and who chases them down to avenge what was lost and protect those who come after.

The visuals are so perfectly sinister and tragic once you learn whats going on in them, and as you continue to watch the opening after those stories have been depicted it continues to add to the tragedy and the importance that the singer catches the villain we see at the end of the song.

I get that its a lot more typically Shnen than most JoJo OPs but in context its perfect

Part 4 had that as a really strong point, actually. CNBT was also amazing for the slice of life wackiness of the early stories.

Great Days doesnt really fit for when its introduced but as a victory anthem celebrating everything the cast worked for it works amazingly well toward the very end. Also the UNITS version is incredible

Idk which one is actually the worst lol.

I might pick Stand Proud because when compared to all the other OPs it just seems to do the least amount of interesting things outside the first few seconds, which shows the progression of the JoJo bloodline and how it culminates in this final showdown.

But Sono Chi no Kioku even did that better with the pendulum opening.

Its not a bad OP by any means, but to me it just does the least to stand out as a piece of its story.

I'm more inclined to agree with this. Calling Chase "the worst OP" implies it's a "bad" OP, which it's not. It might find its way towards the bottom of the list, but that's only because everything else competing with it is top fucking notch.

Except for Traitors Requiem imo. I honestly think I prefer Chase to that one.

I like it better than Traitors Requiem. The song isnt amazing but its less meandering that the aforementioned song, and the visuals are really cool

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread they just changed to it too quickly. Chase should have been switched to when Shigeki died. Thats what marks a big tonal shift in the story
