The "laws" in Advanced ruined the game IMO.
Yes, I know you can manipulate them if you know what you're doing, and you can cancel out ones you don't like, etc. etc. At the end of it all, it was such a barrier to my enjoyment of a tactics based RPG. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Tactics has a better story and mechanics, but I enjoyed Advance more, since it was my first.

Advanced isn't a bad game, but the original is better in almost every possible way.

Tactics by a fairly large margin though I haven't yet beaten FFTA. But so far it just seems like a large series of side quests with very little main story.

The smartphone version was the best of all for me, on account of the camera movement. But between the two in this topic I prefer original I think.
