Some people say age is just a number and it is true. When you turn 30 people perceive you very differently. A lot of 30 year olds THINK they're old AS FUCK. But really it dpeends on how WELL you take care of your body and face!

DO YOU WEAR SUN SCREEN?

DO YOU EAT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES?

Are you genetically going bald and you look old as fuck?

Do you scrunch your forehead all the time as a HABIT and now you have wrinkles as fuck?

Let's see what people think.

I hated turning 30 and thought it made me old as fuck although I still looked young (and many people told me so). Always been in the habit of trying to eat decently, get enough sleep, exercise regularly, good skin care routine, etc.

Now I'm approaching my 33rd birthday and I feel like aging is suddenly ramping up for me big time. I've had a stressful last few years so that would do it, but it's super fucking disappointing because I still feel like I'm still doing everything right and it's just out of my hands now and I can't do anything to change it. I feel like my skin looks worse and though I'm not visibly balding at all I feel like I'm noticing more hair shedding just in the last couple months so maybe after another year or less I'll have to admit it's not coming back. Feels bad man.

I never thought I was good looking or whatever, but I always sort of took pride in my appearance and tried to maintain a youthful and healthy look. I don't feel like I can cope with aging (and this is just appearance, how about when I start having daily aches and pains, can't physically accomplish as much and struggle mentally?) There's legit no upside to getting older.

This is me almost exactly.

I just turned 33 and pass for 27, 28 all the time. But my skin is just now starting to age. I have only a few gray hairs and still a full head of hair.

But you do start to realize that "doing everything right", eating well.. exercise.. low stress life life style... only delays the visible effects of aging, and only by maybe 5 years max. Underneath that exterior, your body is still slowly breaking down... and living well only delays that, and only by a little bit. I've found stretching has the biggest benefits.

Sometimes I wonder if it's even worth it, because I often hear stories of people who were fitness nuts suddenly dropping dead of a heart attack in their late 30's, early 40's... you just never know when it'll be your time.

I'm 35 and I tend to get mistaken for at least a decade younger. Sometimes even 16-17. I guess it's good genes because my older sister and my mother don't look their ages either.

I tend to shave almost everyday though as I really don't like having facial hair. When I started shaving about 15 years ago, the longest I ever went without was when I was in the hospital a few years ago after fracturing both my hips. And even with the facial hair, people said I looked liked I was in my early to mid 20s.

37 here. I used to look pretty young through my 20's but I feel like I've aged up since then and easily look my age or older, but random places still give me student discounts without me asking (because I haven't been a student in years so I don't ask!) and a new guy at work was shocked when I told him my age because he thought I was in my mid 20's. So apparently I still look young?

My hair has thinned and receded a bit but I keep it kind of shaggy so maybe that counteracts it looking old, and I find occasional gray hairs but its not really enough that its easily noticeable. I had friends mostly bald by 25 so I'm not gonna complain if I lose the hair at this point. My dad kept most of his until he hit 60ish.

I basically avoid the sun lol, that's how I take care of it. I guess I could try using more lotion? But there's nothing aside from surgery that prevents the sagging/wrinkles that come with age.

Unless you're in complete darkness all day you're not staying away from the sun. You may not be getting sunburns from direct sunlight but you're still getting UVB damage from indirect sunlight. Wear sunscreen.

And there is something that is scientifically proven to reduce wrinkles. It's called Retinol. Don't trust any anti-aging cream that doesn't have retinol in it.

Botox is also a temporary solution for wrinkles and it isn't surgery either

Same here, and yeah, you'll always look older if you're going to school with people who are 18-19yo and still have baby fat on their faces lol.

But you can still be over 30 and look much younger than that... or "pass for" a certain age. Doesn't mean you "look young", just means you don't look as old as you are.

Get off your high horse, sheesh lol

Hopefully as our understanding of biology evolves we can live longer more youthful lives. I know it's kind of been tradition to get old as heck and wither away for the last hundred years or so but I think people are realizing just how much it sucks getting old and really want to get rid of it all together or reverse it. Who knows, longevity research looks promising though.

Some people's looks don't age well, but function is mostly maintenance.

The one major thing everyone can do is use sunblock. Korean women are straight up vampires about it, even on mild days they have umbrellas, visors, sunblock, the works.
