Def worse than Sonic just be because of the faces.

Yea because they committed to a style, going the more anthro cat route. On the flipside, doing live action with more human with maybe just some touches of cat stuff would have probably been ok too. Or at the very least better than what we're getting.

I'm actually a little interested, to be honest. It looks horrible, but they have a vision and they're going for it. That's more interesting than yet another big dumb action movie.

Cats is not a good musical in the first place so this isn't much of a loss. These look like human heads popping out of some deformed furry body. I think it's especially creepy because the entire face looks like a bald patch with the human features growing out of it. Also, Rebel Wilson was the worst part of that trailer. Was that really one of the funniest scenes of her character? The cringe is real.

Most of the time, rule of thumb is to just not add a fully realistic human face on something non-human. You need to change it at least a bit or it's just disturbing.
