This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will pick the characters to rate and discuss for each day from user nominations - whoever the 3 most nominated characters are at that time. If there are more than 3 I will pick randomly. You can nominate any number of characters at any time, but you cannot nominate the same character twice.

All characters who were present in the 2018 Character Battle will NOT be eligible. Otherwise you can nominate any character that has appeared in video games; even comic book characters. This will exclude real-life athletes who have only appeared in long running sports series, however I will accept those who have their own games such as Shaq. I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if both members of said duo are named in the title of a game (Banjo-Kazooie, Sam & Max Hit the Road, etc).

Each day will have a separate topic, and nominations will carry over. As far as actually rating the character's contest strength; I ask that users rank a characters potential strength with one of the following qualifiers - Low Fodder, Mid Fodder, High Fodder, Fodder Line, Low Midcarder, Midcarder, High Midcarder, Near Elite, Elite, LAW Tier (capable of beating Link). I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Chrom - High fodder. Game is one of the most popular in the series and despite the general "furhurhur not anuthar fiyar amblam karaktor" idiots, his addition to Smash was met with a mostly warm welcome.

Scar I will say is a Low Midcarder. He is one of the most popular and iconic Disney villains from a beloved movie.

Agree with High Fodder for Chrom.

I will go with Mid Fodder for Rise. She's one of the most well-liked P4 characters, but I think she'll look too much like 'generic anime girl' in a contest picture. I could see her being high fodder if she gets a bikini pic (which is possible, but unlikely).

Somewhat. He ranks fairly well on polls. Lucina and Robin are both more popular than him though, and that's just from his own game.

I concur with everyone else that Chrom is High Fodder and Rise is Mid Fodder.

For Scar, I'm going to say Fodder Line. I don't think too many GameFAQs users are inclined to vote for TLK in a contest in the first place, something which I don't see the remake affecting. On the other hand, I also don't think he's going to be any weaker than Simba.

Scar, eh I'll say mid fodder for Scar. Should be weaker than Simba. Despite his popularity on the board, heroes, princesses, and comic relief will almost always outdo villains with the general public, with maybe a few exceptions in which the villain is bar none THE most memorable thing about the movie (like Cruella or Maleficent).
