Only on CE would people hate on fun.

That said I know someone who went on a trip to DW alone. Completely alone, no so, no friends, no fam.. just went on rides alone.

That is fucking sad

I don't see anything wrong with someone that decides to go as an adult because going as a child was never an option. That being said, the amount of children, cost, and the fact that its so crowded turns me off already.

You're right. The moment you turn 18 and don't already have a kid, you're only allowed to sit in an armchair and smoke a pipe and grumble to yourself. With the occasional time off to do taxes and eat turnips. Nothing considered "fun" by normal standards can be done ever again.

C.S. Lewis once said...
Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

When i was young my grandmother worked at disney and i got free passes all the time.

I had a somewhat rough childhood and Disney was my happy place. As i grew older i just kept going.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) was also a big Disney fan so through our teen years and early 20s we would go multiple times a month. Sometimes we wouldn't even go on rides, we would people watch, explore the different parks, walk the resorts, etc. We got it down to a science, we could show up when the park opens ride everything and be gone by noon before the crowds got insane. With the inclusion of fast passes i could map out the entire park with the best routes. I'd hear people complaining about lines and not being able to do much... I took a few of those people with me and they were blown away.

Then we moved out of Florida, we would still make trips down once a year to visit family and go to the parks but it was much more expensive that way.

Then almost 9 years ago we had a kid. We would still go every year but as she got older it was harder and harder to stick to a plan, I had to reimagine what and how i felt as a kid and really take things back so she could enjoy the parks (but still have control so we aren't stuck in crowds and lines all day).

It really is amazing to see and feel things as a parent that were a big part of your life through your kid.

That was off topic a bit but screw you Disney as an adult with or without kids is amazing. Do you know how old a lot of stuff is in those parks? There are things from really old peoples childhood in those parks that brings back this feeling of joy.

Not only that there are some great adult only things around Disney. Trader Sam's at poly, amazing spa's, restaurants that literally don't allow young children, do drinking around the world at Epcot (prepare to get really drunk), Disney springs has a great nightlife scene as well. You can have a different kind of fun without kids if you do it right.

6 years ago when I got my house inspected, the inspector who was in his 40's and in a kid-less marriage was obsessed with Disney. He had a lanyard around his neck with Disney characters and was telling me all about the Disney points market. That's right, there's a whole market for the buying and selling of Disney points. He goes to Disney parks at least 3 times a year and has been to most of the world's locations. It was fascinating yet kind of creepy.

Single riders often get to jump to the front of the line though, so really its kind of brilliant.

Yeah, I've gone to Japan three times. Once with family, once with friends, and once by myself. While it was nice create and share memories and experiences, I think I had the most fun by myself. Went where I want and did what I want. That included going to Disney Sea alone. I think I did so much more alone too.

The lines combined with the expense and crowds makes it hard to justify going there just as adults to enjoy it. Disney World at this point is more of a kid's dream destination that you go once or twice unless you live close to it

I would love to go on the Rocking Roller Coaster again as an adult

Going in the winter when school is in session is absolutely ideal.

My friend lives in Florida and goes at that time and says he can do whole parks in 3 hours.
