hmmm?

this is the only news i could find

https://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/politics/2019/02/28/impossible-burgers-fake-meat-mississippi-bill-plants-insects-labeling/3015361002/

and that just says that meat-alternatives can't be labeled as meat, which i think is fair. but it makes no mention about restricting the word 'burger' to only meat products.

A 100% plant based no meat burger that actually tastes good on a national platform is huge. They'll be made healthier over time as costs come down I'm sure.

And it wont taste as good.

The reason it tastes decent is cause of the sodium overload

The original already had a whopping 980mg, let's not pretend a Whopper was low-sodium in the first place.

As for not tasting as good, I'll be impressed if it tastes similar. Most that have tried it say they're pretty good.

All I'm saying is that calling this some sort of health conscious choice is disingenuous at best, downright ignorant at worst.

And anyone thinking it will somehow get "healthier" down the line is delusional.

This is really just Burger King taking advantage of vegetarians/vegans and people who don't know any better.

My point isn't that the Whopper is healthy, it's that the Impossible Whopper isn't healthy enough to be any sort of alternative.

Like, are you honestly saying that eating an impossible whopper is going to make you less susceptible to heart disease than eating a regular one?

oddly yes. it does have less cholesterol, but the whopper's cholesterol content is about that of 1 egg

What if they aren't eating it to be healthy? You can be vegan/vegetarian, and not make everything you eat about it being healthy.

news to me. always thought it was made by animal cells. kind of like how fiber doesn't exist in animal cells (watch that be wrong too)

also cause every plant product i've ever seen has had 0 cholesterol. anytime it's above 0 is cause it has eggs or dairy or it's meat

No, its just marketed as a vegan/ vegetarian option. Some vegans just dont want to eat animals. They dont care about the health aspect
