The law here dictates that to be called whole, the fat percentage has to be 3.5% and to be called half-whole, it has to be 1.5%. With skimmed and fat-free obviously being separate products.

No clue what 2% could even legally be sold as here... Not that people here actually know, or refer to, the fat percentages of milk...

Such an impeccably designed poll, I am a very avid milk drinker and still there is no option I can actually go with.

Why? 4/2/1 is easier than 3.5/1.5/.5

No idea. Laws are written over the course of many years and apparently "half-whole" only legally became a thing later and when "whole" was redefined, "half-whole" was not.
