This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will pick the characters to rate and discuss for each day from user nominations - whoever the 3 most nominated characters are at that time. If there are more than 3 I will pick randomly. You can nominate any number of characters at any time, but you cannot nominate the same character twice.

All characters who were present in the 2018 Character Battle will NOT be eligible. Otherwise you can nominate any character that has appeared in video games; even comic book characters. This will exclude real-life athletes who have only appeared in long running sports series, however I will accept those who have their own games such as Shaq. I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if both members of said duo are named in the title of a game (Banjo-Kazooie, Sam & Max Hit the Road, etc).

Each day will have a separate topic, and nominations will carry over. As far as actually rating the character's contest strength; I ask that users rank a characters potential strength with one of the following qualifiers - Low Fodder, Mid Fodder, High Fodder, Fodder Line, Low Midcarder, Midcarder, High Midcarder, Near Elite, Elite, LAW Tier (capable of beating Link). I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Wii Fit Trainer - mid fodder. As we've seen, Smash =/= strength, and literally 100% of her contest strength would come from Smash. Without Smash, Tanner could beat her with relative ease; Chloe Price could maybe triple her. And it's not like she's exactly super popular in Smash anyway.

Impa - Fodder line. I feel like she is someone really worth rallying in someday to give her the old testeroo. I could easily see her being a low midcarder, but I don't really follow the Zelda community enough to know if they really care about her all that much.

Rush - High fodder. Recognizable, classic MM character. I mean, he'd certainly be stronger than Metal Man.

I was gonna say Impa would be more than Fodder Line but honestly she has so many incarnations that I can imagine her pulling an awful pic from Oracle of Ages/Seasons and completely getting fucked

Agree with Fodder Line for Impa and High Fodder for Rush.

For Wii Fit I say High Fodder. She has popularity beyond Smash for waifu-related reasons.

I've never really seen this, not to any degree that it would affect contest strength anyway.

And even still, I'd say this is Smash-related anyway. Hardly anybody would even know she exits without Smash.

I'm sure you're being hyperbolic but I refuse to believe this. At least Wii Fit Trainer would be seen as a random funny entrant in a pre-Smash world, whereas Tanner is Tanner.

Wii Fit Trainer: Mid Fodder - I don't think Smash alone would be enough for this; fortunately, she has more assets than that.

Impa: High Fodder - She's too easily sunk by pic factor; for example, BotW Impa looks like an unappealing old woman. Plus, I don't know that very many people care about Impa in the first place. She's still a relevant Zelda character, though.

I agree with High Fodder for Rush.
