First off, it was good. Theres no such thing as a bad toy story
but this one felt fair for the course, ya know toys do things they're not supposed to, they do flips and shit, they go rescue woody, etc but HOLY SHIT that ending The thing is, at least in part 3 we saw it coming. The ending where they part ways with Andy was part of the plot While there was foreshadowing, I still felt breaking up the gang, where things will never be the same again, came out of nowhere. That is, I didn't think they would ever do that in a million years the last 20 minutes were great, and it brought up the movie as a whole in the end but man, considering its supposed to be the last Toy Story, it felt lacking. Most of the toys were LITERALLY put in the backseat. I know Potato Head died but still also, was ..Buzz suddenly alot dumber? Bo Peep was great. Its interesting to see what toys comes up with when they're on their own one thing I will say is that I'm a little disappointed .....with something how to explain the idea of being a toy the fork gained sentience when he was played with they don't fully go into that. I know its a kids movie and I'm overthinking it and everything but Bo Peep is a porcelain lamp decoration and shes now alive presumably because Andy played with her I figured there'd be some connection there and we'd have the different views on it, but...it didn't happen but yea, good stuff --- ... Buzz's entire plotline was so inconsequential wow you just described Toy Story 2-4 my number 1 problem with the franchise is that they always seem to struggle with finding shit for Buzz to do --- Most Quotable Media Ever: Vote Now! - https://bit.ly/2WH2mKz Advokaiser owns this space and my butt ... The problem with Buzz's plotline is that there is no payoff to the "inner voice" gag. I was expecting there to be a point where he ignores the recorded messages and saves the day with his own idea, but nope. He just gets frustrated when the messages say "Mission Over" and that's it.

No, his voice actor died
thats why he only has like 2 lines, they used lines from other movies I'm just sayin thats probably one of the reasons why he was sidelined so hard --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

The problem with Buzz is that he was REALLY important in the FIRST movie, when he was directly part of the plot to advance WOODY as a character. But then the rest of the series is about growing up and moving on, and Buzz really isn't the main character, nor does he have any real value to that theme. So he basically becomes the secondary leader in TS2/3/4, leading the other toys on goofy hi-jinks while Woody is off having existential development.

This and Buzz suddenly being so literal-minded really annoyed me. Thankfully, the Woody/Bo Peep stuff was strong enough that I still loved the movie, but it's not a masterpiece like the first three. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, I thought this one was a little weaker than the other three, though I do think it was a cute movie overall. I felt like it was a good coda to the series, allowing Woody to exist for his own sake and make his own choices - TS3 in retrospect does feel as though it traps Woody in a cycle of having no reason to be if he isn't in an eternal cycle of being a kid's toy and TS4 frees him from that.
TS4 feels a bit like a bunch of ideas they had for characters - Forky, Gabby Gabby - and locations - the antique store, the carnival - that they wanted to use before but couldn't, and they just wanted to explore them. It just came off as a little scattershot I guess, some plotlines didn't seem to mesh into a big overall theme and some characters felt like they were along for the ride. Wasn't as tight a script as TS3. ... Copied to Clipboard!
