Debit. Cash and checks are too much of a pain in the ass. Credit is pointless because I can just have the money come directly out of my account. App paying is also pointless because I have my wallet with me whenever I need pay for something, so I can just use my debit card.

Credit for online purchases.

I chose debit. Before the chip, I just used credit. It still came out of my account, but I didn't need to have the funds in at that exact moment. Plus, no pin was needed. It was quick and stuff. Now with the chip, I do debit. Which is the same for me except the money has to be in at the exact time of use...
I would get a credit card to help with my credit score, but probably later. I sometimes use checks for rent, but rarely these days. Cash for many reasons. Although I've since come across sell service machines that only accept card. Even more reason to not use self service it seems.

Debit. I check for skimmers, wipe the keypad when I'm done. I can honesty tell beggars, "I don't carry cash", ditto to the ones who offer to pay for my groceries with their food stamps at a discount if I give them cash. "Nope, I don't carry cash."

I never had to worry with fraudulent use since the CC company will contact me on anything suspicious and they offer burner cards that I can use online that is only good for the place that I am using it and for a set amount. --- ... I get anyway between 1-5% usually, depending on where I spend. My main credit card also has extra deals that will be up to 15% cash back, depending on the partnerships. It changes every 2-3 weeks so I check the website to see if any of the places I would go to are giving more cash back.
