I think it was the cops discretion whether or not I was gonna get arrested or just get off with a ticket, so it's cool I just got a ticket. Also even though its a misdemeanor try to apply for deferment to wipe it off your record after completing probation. As a lawyer, I defended literally hundreds of traffic ticket. From my experience, as soon as someone mentions "cruise control" as a defense to a speeding ticket, they lose. I had clients swear to me that it was on the cruise control, and I told them not to tell the judge, and they didn't believe me. Almost all rental cars have these now btw.
