The first wave of Witcher Netflix series images have been released. Sporting just one sword (more on that in just a moment), Henry Cavills Geralt of Rivia takes centre stage for both a poster and a couple of character photos. Perhaps more excitingly, we also now have our first look at Ciri and Yennefer, two key players in the Witcher Netflix series.

Right, so lets take a gander at these Witcher Netflix series images (H/T Nibellion on Twitter). The man himself, Geralt, is first up. Theres a poster showing Henry Cavills, ahem, ample posterior, as well as a fog-ridden shot of the lead. Bringing up the rear (sorry), theres a picture-perfect photo of Henry Cavill glowering into the distance thats bound to put the fears of the first Witcher Netflix reveal back in October firmly to bed.

Notice how the author pays special attention to the character rear. of course, there's not going to be ANY outcry at all since the actor is MALE. if this was on yen or triss the internet would be blowing up right now, but because it's directed at a male? silence

I heard he only carries one sword at a time in the books, but tbqh I thought carrying two swords and the reason for doing so was a really cool bit of lore from the games. I kinda wish they were doing it here

I like a good man ass

Why is sexuality such a hot button issue lately? Give the girls what they want, give the guys what they want, give the LGBTQ people what they want, and quit complaining about "gazes."

People reacting to this show on the witcher reddit is addictive to watch. It's just mental breakdown after mental breakdown. Yen isn't a pure aryan blooded lilly princess, we're all doomed! Cavill's wig in a screentest will sink this show! Someone found a goofy phone camera pic of the production and it looks weird, this show is finished! One sword!!!!!!!!!

There's no joke at least like 30+ people getting mad about one sword and getting told by the same 5 people that that's how he is in the books while they're downvoted into oblivion.

The casting is awful all around pretty much. They completely threw out what these characters are supposed to look like for diversity hires and worse, inexperienced actors. It doesn't bode well for the rest of the show if they are already breaking from the books.

As do I. And only one of those photos is really serving a meal here. That one of him in profile looks flat as a board. That cannot be what passes as quality ass around here.

the title of the thread makes it seem, to me, like this should be news or a shocker. tw3 opens up with us staring into geralts submerged crotch, and he steps out of his bath rugged and chiseled af. this is no big deal.

From what Ive read in other articles he also carries two swords in the books, but he leaves one of them on Roach. The two swords on the back was a gameplay decision just to make things more fluid.

Wut? All the actors playing the major characters are white. Unless you mean they aren't of Polish descent.

Personally I think the two swords makes for a cool visual, and really sets the character design apart. It was a clever decision. It also makes sense because he doesn't always have Roach with him. Oh well

agreed. nothing about it knocks on the show, however.

Yennefer looks too young and isn't anything like she's described in the books is one example.

The main reason he keeps the silver sword on Roach is that he rarely actually uses it. It's meant for very specific sorts of monsters like werewolves. All monsters being weak to silver is another CDPR invention

So, let me get this straight: A left wing "games journalist" is a hypocrite? I. Am. Shocked. Honestly, it's so expected that it's not even really worth talking about.

She's a diversity hire because she's young?

Yennefer alters her appearance with magic anyway.

I looked up some of the casting and the actress playing Yennefer is Indian. For some reason I thought, but recent casting photos show her as quite brown. And apparently a sorceress described in the books as super white and uses magic to maker herself whiter is being played by a black actress.

So I take it back. There are diversity hires. But Netflix is one of those "diversity is more important than anything else in the show/movie" so what can you do.
