Also I've started binging the Monogatari series and I feel like I have a problem. Between that and Hyouka I feel like you have pretty good taste (no bias).

I also just got around to watching the Brotherhood recap from last round:

-Great vid selection
-a legit Brotherhood RPG covering the anime would be pretty sweet...

I mean, you could watch One Punch Man instead.

Is Season 2 over? I was waiting for that, but that's a lame excuse since I hadn't watched season 1 yet despite sitting on it for years.

And yeah, probably as many episodes in my entire unwatched backlog than in One Piece, I should work on them. But then I'd never get started on it!

lol. No regrets! I still don't remember how I fit that in or what the impetus for watching it was... it might have been the nominations for this contest kicking off and it only being 12 episodes. Also it was still on my computer so I didn't need to dig through one of my external drives...

Those 12 episodes went real fast. MHA is up to 75 by this point? Might as well be 900!

Watched Goblin Slayer's first episode for science. Probably won't watch the rest of it, but I like it's simple premise. Not everything has to have some deep rooted conspiracy or convoluted philosophical meaning.

I actually like the first half of the first episode, although most of the second half is straight up bad. The premise has a lot of potential, but it's let down by bad directing, use of a lot of my most hated tropes, and a ton of tonal dissonance (my pet hate).

I've finished 16/25, with 5 more watched in part.

To me, the second half is what makes the episode. You start out as this cutesy, RPG world story, with a greenhorn group of adventurers going on a quest together. Then...HARD right turn into graphic violence. I loved that.

I liked the foreshadowing, cause that entire party is throwing out death flags left right and centre for anyone who's watched anything in their lives. The buildup is really entertaining, drawn out and paced fairly well. Then it descends into badly animated fight scenes which show as little fighting as possible but as much rape as they can get away with on TV, in 3 minutes of below-average hentai.

Best thing about the show is Goblin Slayer himself and the creative ways of murdering things. Unfortunately, that's not all there is.

It's a good thing this is "Save My Favourite" and not "Save My Objectively Best" anime series! Not even in my top 10 but it keeps enduring, and with Brotherhood knocked out and Code Geass on the cusp, could free it up for more focus...

Though if there's a rule change today then maybe that would finally do it.

Also gotta finish those last few LoGH eps cos 80 something through, it's a 10/10 show.

Not my all time fav, but I can't really deny how good it is at what it does

I meant to ask you about LoGH which I tried getting but could only find a newer recent series. Spinoff or remake, I assume? Am focused on getting the original though!

I would start with the 110 episode OVA. I haven't seen the newest one yet, but I understand that it is only a retelling of the beginning of the series.

I would guess Hinamatsuri, Eureka, Kaguya, and NNB. This is entirely baseless and I would not be shocked if I were wrong on all.

working on the next round, but yes I am big on NNB, still am.

It's just that I'm really glad to see it do well on its own now, which lets me push Monogatari in the meantime.
