Look y'all, I'm not telling games to hold my hand and tell me to go in a straight line, but when there's no clear indication as to where I go next, resulting in me spending 20 minutes wandering around before I die from a random encounter, it's only natural that I haven't gotten far in any of the games.

Bloodborne was even worse about this, ugh. Needed a step-by-step guide just to go to the next boss.

Yeah, sorta.

Just like all games are about memorization, soulsborne is really about memorization.

Noooooo

I don't mind memorizing combat patterns but I have too many games nowadays to devote a large quantity of time to getting lost

Part of the fun is stumbling into an area you have no business being at yet and getting your ass handed to you.

If it makes you feel any better, I think Dark Souls 1 and that first chunk of Yharnam in BB are the worst for where the fuck do I even go. Especially DS, cuz they're like ha ha, one bell is up and one is down so you're like oh right down here in this graveyard? Or right down here in ghost lake? >_> Fuckers.

Dark Souls 3 is probably the least confusing out of any of them.

True, DS3 is sort of linear in a way, I never had that feeling if I was or wasn't ready to be in an area, it was more straight forward seeing where you are supposed to be next.

Kinda actually. Think of it like a 3D Metroidvania.

Dark Souls is a sucky game.

At least, that's what I got after 10 hours playing it.

I don't recall getting lost any more than in a Metroidvania game. Navigation isn't even that bad.
