I'm new to ordering delivery. I always pay online, you don't have to tip right? I recall someone mentioning that you should for doordashers, however I never use them because doordash is some fucking bull shit. Areyou supposed to tip to everyone?

When I use DoorDash I always tip in cash and write will tip in cash :) on the comments line, and I always think it makes them go faster since they dont already know how much theyre gonna get.

Then when they get there I beat them over the head and torture them in my basement.

Yes absolutely. I used to deliver for doordash and most people would tip. Probably only once or twice did I not get a tip. Job is already pretty demanding so seeing at least a 2 or 3 dollar tip on a small order is nice. If you can, tip in cash and say in the comment you'll tip in cash. Doordash does this thing where they will pay part of your wages with tips people give you, so it's like you're getting a base pay but then you don't really get a tip. So if you tip in cash, doordash will cover your base pay and then you keep the full amount of tip the recipient intended to give you.

Anyone who refuses to tip isn't "fighting the system" like a hardcore rebel, they're just being a self-centered egotistical insecure little dipshit who probably shouldn't be using these services in the first place. You're hurting people who rely on it as a part of their job.

Tip $5 at the least, and if you can't afford that or think that's too much, don't eat out.

My wife does online delivery services and my sister's a server in a restaurant, it pisses me off when people try to justify not tipping and they're the same people who fill their own petty desires with stuff they can clearly afford. You're no exception, I've seen all your posts about a massive inheritance and you don't want to tip. Don't be an asshole.

That is what the delivery fee is for. Not to mention costs for food from restaurants is already heavily inflated for "service" reasons.

No need to shame or ridicule people into paying even more, just because the government and employers are sleaze bags when it comes to pay in the food service sector.

It is more a principal thing, not really about "sticking it to the man".

Besides, coming from a country where the people responsible for such things are less sleaze-baggy and tipping is not indoctrinated into the culture, you might consider me a bit biased.

Even though I tip 18-20% on average, I'd agree tipping for doing their job seems like an odd thing. I'd rather said workers be paid a fixed rate instead employers supposedly making up their pay if the tip doesn't cover enough. I feel like that's potentially less headache with workers trying to make up the difference via tip if employers are not legally obligated and employers who supposedly pocket the tip money.

I don't always tip delivery people. If I'm already being charged a delivery fee, then no. If someone takes 30 minutes to deliver my food even though I live 5 miles away, then no

I also check my pizza after one guy apparently dumped it upside down and tried to play it off like it came that way.

As mentioned above, I tip 18-20% on average but I disagree with the concept of tipping. I feel tipping is more of a bandage treatment than fixing the system as a whole and getting workers to be paid a proper amount so they need not worry about making the difference via tip. Unfortunately it seems fixing the system is less practical compared to continuing this bandage treatment of tipping

That being said, I have heard of cases where workers make more in tips than what their regular pay woulda been but I feel this isn't the norm and not something to go by.

Curious. Do they prefer the current system as-is or they'd rather be paid a proper amount from their employer and tipping not being the norm?
