Ka-Zar and Shanna the She-Devil would be mandatory, as they literally show up in every Savage Land story ever. Even stories where characters spend all of 15 minutes there (like during the Secret Invasion).

As an X-Men story, the obvious go-to is the Savage Land mutates, probably led by Zaladane, unless you go the original route and have a villainous Magneto be behind everything. Plus you can throw in characters like Garokk the Petrified Man or Sauron. Part of me would want through in Terminus, but that's an entirely different mess, and is more of an Avengers story anyway.

If it's part of the MCU, it has the perfect tie-in already in place - the Savage Land is the only place in the entire world outside of Wakanda where you can find vibranium. Have someone discover it, escape, and reveal this to the world, and suddenly unscrupulous people want to get there and steal it all before the governments of the world can come to terms with the idea and establish protocol (it's in Antarctica, so it technically doesn't belong to any existing nation, but major wars have been fought over far less - the UN would argue for months over whether or not any single nation has the right to exploit the resource, with brinkmanship and bickering, while less moral nations - like, say, Latveria - are more likely to jump in with both feet and deal with the political consequences later).
