If it were legal, you wouldn't need to make it yourself, you could go to the meth store and buy it. It would be FDA regulated and you'd get pharmaceutical grade drugs with standardized dosage, no dangers of contaminants or fake drugs.

This is why drug "decriminalization" is the word people use. It's not that it should be "legal" it's that drug abuse should be treated as a health issue and not a criminal one. Someone addicted to drugs needs to be assisted with their dependency, not thrown into jail. Now that assistance may be somewhere isolated from society that they can't leave, a sort of forced rehabilitation, but not strictly a jail/prison where they are just kept for a set number of years and then let go with the same exact problems they went in with.

I've seen the effects firsthand from addiction as my county has one of the highest rates in my state as well.

Both Heroin and meth are out of control where I live. Neither one should be legal

This. Selling should still be illegal, but using shouldn't. Locking up addicts who need treatment does not make the world safer. It doesn't help addicts, it doesn't help the community--all it does is destroy lives, break up families, and waste finite money and manpower that could be better spent elsewhere.

For starters, point of sale should be point of consumption, which would drastically cut down on DUIs, alcohol poisoning, and underage drinking, among countless other issues. It could also be used to identify and treat addiction.

It turns people into living meth getting zombies with zero priorities in life. It rewires your brain to only care about meth, and leaves you deprived once you quit.

No. They need to build sealed off farms in the middle of nowhere, where they can put all the meth addicts to get clean while they till the land and learn to maintain the place. Have psychologists there, obviously, as well as armed guards and various trades people. I think making people productive against their will while offering a strong support net is the only popular way to potentially fix the issue.

Roaming packs of methheads is probably a bad idea.
