I really enjoyed the two games. I like the story, the customizations, saving and curing the little sisters, fighting big sisters and the many variations of big daddies.

I herd infinite doesnt have little sisters anymore.

No. It hardly feels like a Bioshock game. But don't let that stop you from playing it. It's great regardless. The story and characters are pretty great

Yeah, Infinite is a different story in a different world. It takes place much earlier in American history, on a city in the sky, and instead of economic themes, the game focuses more on religious/belief themes. The science is different, too. BS1/2 are focused around the idea of genetic modification. Infinite's is... something different.

Oh, and the gameplay is different in a few ways. While BS1/2 involve more exploration and scrounging, Infinite kinda downplays that for more action and linear progression. The combat is runny/gunny. You can only carry two guns at a time. There are still elements of the old gameplay, but they're more downplayed.

The gunplay is kinda stale, even with the powers it feels relatively bland.

But I loved the experience, personally. Thought the atmosphere and story were great and highly immersive.

I feel like a second run-through would probably be quite boring, though. Kind of like if a Telltale (RIP) game had a lot of first person shooting segments.

1 was all about the atmosphere and the magic of visiting and exploring rapture for the first time alone and afraid.

2 was more refined but it lost a lot of what made Bioshock 1 special. Running around as a hulking Big Daddy made you feel invulnerable and the world was pretty much identical to 1. Felt like more of an add on.

Infinite tries to create a new atmosphere all together but after the first half of the game it falls kinda flat. Columbia doesnt hit near as hard as Rapture does. Gunplay is better but the weapons arent very fun.

It's much better. Cooler atmosphere, tighter gunplay. The story goes to shit in the last hour though.

The story is pretty good if you don't think very hard about it. If you think about it, holes pop up like you just disrupted floating sand in Minecraft.

There's much less customization. Then vigors aren't as varied or as interesting as the plasmids. Of the eight that are in the game, three are stuns, one is a grenade, one is possession, one is a shield, one is a charge, and one is a push.

There are no Little Sisters or any sort of system in place similar to the Big Sister encounters.

There are a few more difficult enemies, but I believe only two of them would truly qualify as Big Daddy equivalents. It's worth mentioning that the enemies are typically less interesting; they traded quality for quantity, so you get a lot of random dudes with guns.

Another thing I think it's worth pointing out is that in the first two games, you came to place "after the fact" and had to piece together what happened.

Infinite you're very much coming to the place as things are starting to get interesting, so it's less about "what happened" and more about "what could happen".

And they reduced the gene tonic slots to 4.

Im fine with this, except for the lack of manual saves. This blows.

Eh, you don't need manual saves since it's basically on rails with regen health anyway.

I personally prefer Bioshock Infinite to the first two, but that is because I have an pretty potent distaste for survival horror. I wouldn't really classify Bioshock 1 and 2 as survival horror, but they take enough from the genre to annoy me when I play those games.

I loved it honestly, and it capped off one of my favorite ever game trilogies. It was a different take from the first two, and I think it needed that.

I played maybe 1 hr of it, was not impressed and went back to BioShock 2.

Could not stand all the religious bullshit, the reduction of gameplay mechanics, and how it felt like someone was trying to hit the same notes as the first game but failing miserably.

Nah. It has that compromise where you have a regular health meter, but you also have a shield that regenerates.

It's as good, arguably better, but it's also a VERY different game. The gameplay takes a step down because it focuses more on straight FPS gameplay than the open world, open ended feel Bioshock had, but the story takes a HUGE up(and I say this loving the stories of the first two).

The gameplay is a downgrade in almost every way. The story seems fun enough on a first experience and the ending is full of adrenaline but once everything is over and looking back at it as a whole the story is an inconsistent mess and the ending is a sour note that even gets contradicted and made pointless by the even worse DLC. Because of it they decided they had an excuse to not resolve any of its numerous threads. The best thing about infinite is the gorgeous environment and one on one character interaction with Elizabeth.
Ive written a long review about it before but I dont feel the need to search for it so suffice to say this is one of the most disappointing games Ive ever played. I found both Bioshock 1 and 2 to be much more fun and replayable.

I didn't really care for the second game but loved the first one. First one can be creepy as hell. I did enjoy Infinite, though it has nothing on the first.
