I always liked him as an actor, and If you look at the guys films he's in quite a number of big ones where he does play different kinds of characters.

I first noticed it after it was revealed that he had been secretly funding children's hospitals for years. Then I noticed r/KeanuBeingAwesome and there are a ton of stories of him being an awesome guy. He's not the typical celebrity who will join causes for publicity, but the one who will pull over and help you out when you have a flat tire.

People used to hate on him for his acting skills. John Wick came out and stories of his good deeds as a human (brought on by the sad Keanu meme) is what made him popular. Now being feature in Cyber Punk is just relevancy.
