Sure. You'll be way behind the hobbyists who started programming at 15, but no one wants to hire and pay for experienced programmers, so you'll be fine. That's why most commercial software is fucking garbage these days. :D

Yes, it is against the terms of service. Do not use the boards to set up orgies.

If its something your actually interested in, then sure start studying it. But might I give you some advice. Youtube. You can learn just about anything from Youtube and employers realize that. While it won't give you a job, you can learn the basics on Youtube and apply that to your studies to have an easier time.

I took computer repair back in 03'. I didn't learn much. I was a kid at the time, 17 years old, just out of high school. Used it as a gateway to get me out of the house, rather than learn anything. Back in 2012 I wanted to build a computer but didn't know a thing about how to do it. I got some help from people on this site, and eventually that took me to Carey Holzman, who I relearned everything from. Now next year I'm going back to college again for that same program(well, minor changes but I digress), just so I can have that diploma to say I took the course, but there isn't much I need to learn about repairing a computer, or building a computer now.

I know how to build it from scratch, I know how to install an operating system, and partition, and set up a dual boot system. I can't afford to do it myself, but I know how to do it.

So if there if programming is something your eager to dip your toes into, look at some videos online. We live in a massively connected world. You can learn anything for damn near free these days.
