Some one from the Phasma book named Vi Moradi.

Apparently this is her creator tweeting about seeing her at Galaxy's Edge

So wait...a major plot point in the Phasma book was polyamory and...menstruation?

Am I understanding this right?

Or does polyamory and menstruation just tie into how she...straightens her hair?

Ok friend, while I did laugh, polyamory and menstruation arent bad things do you have a problem with women and/or sex/childbirth? Unsure why youd find those 2 things objectionable otherwise.

No, neither were major plot points.

But they did happen in the book.

Because they don't really add anything to a childrens fantasy space series.

And I still don't understand WTF any of that has to do with hair.

Edit: I actually do have a problem with women, sex and childbirth. But none of that has to do with my confustion at this being a notable thing in star wars

And if it doesn't...why was it mentioned at all?

Polyamory isn't really a good thing either since it often leads to people getting hurt. It doesn't work nearly as much as the hipsters on the internet would lead you to believe.

And it definitely doesn't work in the way people seem to attribute it to "primitive societies" where women were often treated as property in terms of polyamory.

Menstruation is whatever though. It just seems odd to bring that up in relation to haircare.

since whoever made that image deprived us of context, we don't really know the nature of the question she was responding to

if I were to stab at a guess, I'd say she's saying that since she included polyamory and menstruation in the sections of her book about a primitive tribal society for realism, she wants to also make sure the way a character handles her hair is realistic.

Well reading the tweets, it seems she wanted to get aspects of her story correct to real life (at least as far as human physiology was concerned) so that her reader wouldn't be taken out of the immersion. So, she was asking questions about black peoples' hair (a subject that she, a white woman, wouldn't be as familiar) and what can and can't be done with it.

If they're covering menstruation and hair straightening, then I hope they also cover other important topics like back acne and the hemorrhoids one gets from the poor quality alien foods. I'm going to have a hard time relating to the characters otherwise.

Also, I hope the author goes on twitter to humblebrag about how inclusive she is for including bacne. I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to pat her (And by extension, myself) on the back for including these things.

(For the record, I don't have problem with including these topics if they're handled tastefully or have a strong narrative purpose. But it'a clear from the author's tweets that she is doing it for the most shallow and self-serving reasons possible.)

Are they going to cover the complications of taking a shit in a primitive society too ?, I mean realism clearly matters in woke SW.

When will they cover the many dangerous alien STI/STDs a human can get in these new novels.

I'll be real. I remember the polyamory in Phasma because it was key to their society. I don't remember menstruation being mentioned.

It might have had something to do with a young woman reaching a birthing age in their society.

*shrug*

Just being honest. I recognize I'm bi but honestly I cant stand most women I meet. I have really weird quirks with sex (probably not a problem but whatever) and childbirth is super disgusting.

I also find it funny that Cyric tries to downplay the polyamory by saying it wasnt a plot point but then acts like it's important to mention cause it's a major part of the titular characters background apparently. (I thought FO soldiers were indoctrinated at birth tho)

Edit: I think I misread it wasnt part of Phasmas society but this new chicks. My bad.

The only thing I can think of is the line about most of their children "ending in blood before they were known" which I thought was about miscarriage due to their harsh lifestyles.

Phasma was such a good book. I didn't know I wanted Mad Max Star Wars, but I'm so happy I got it.
