He's just saying that a cop is among those who would be more likely to believe a miller claim. So someone like Corrick is less likely to be a cop because he immediately suspected the miller claim. It's not conclusive because hey it's mafia, nothing but what the host says should be conclusive.

I don't believe miller's are that common anymore honestly.

And yes Cops are common. But giving hints as to who is the cop is the issue. In a 17 player game. If 6 people "buy" the Miller claim and two of them are lying scum that leaves 4 better candidates for shooting cop night one.

What I'm getting at is. Maybe we should be less on the claimy end of things early this game.

You're too focused on this. Don't get tunnel vision. That's also bad for town. If he is scum, which yes is still a big if, he has other scum buddies. We need to talk to each other and get reads on each other. We need all this silly day 1 stuff so we can dig up history to try to catch scum in a contradiction in the future. We should hopefully have one or two other bandwagons that we can use to investigate in the future. Scum has the information advantage. So, we need to make it up and spread it around. But of course we have to be careful. We don't want to give anything away, which is why I won't claim nor force a claim on d1.

To give some more fodder for discussion.

A day 1 miller claim was somewhat fashionable in AIM mafia because as a town player coming out and claiming miller it made it hard for a scum to do this in the future. It was a common tactic then for town to use in order to prevent the WIFOM of a cop versus a scum with a miller claim in the future. Of course as it became common for town to use, then scum started using it too. Naturally creating more WIFOM because that's mafia for you.

Feels like SBell just really wants us to know that he doesn't get wrestling, despite there being enough context clues and Face and Heel being used outside of wrestling, where he should know by this point what they mean (and could've looked it up if he is Town, since as Scum he'd surely know by now what they mean and thus this would be faking).

Umm, pretty sure you should still know which is the good guy and which is the bad guy. That part really isn't hard. Heel/Face are sometimes used outside fo wrestling. But not enough that I assume you know that. I do assume that anyone playing read the intro and read their role PM and therefore know face = good and heel = bad. I don't think that much is unreasonable imho.
