ConfessPlease 05/28/19 12:26:45 PM #1:	I've watched the original Aladdin around 1500 to 2000 times in my life and it's been my favorite movie since I was born. It was even the first movie I went to see in theaters and I can recite 98 percent of of the movie anytime. Anyways, even though I'm such a big fan and I've been disappointed with live action Disney movies, I was still very excited about this one and had a very open mind. The trailers looked really great, and I didn't know why everyone was complaining about Will Smith and the Prince Ali song. I was going into thinking it was going to be a 10/10 movies and I was so hyped. It started off pretty well with the intro with Will Smith narrating everything. I also liked the intro to Aladdin and Jasmine and thought the actors did great all around. I thought Abu was lame but didn't think it was so bad and I knew it was really difficult to make a monkey look good for a movie so I let it slide. Then things took a turn for the worst and it kept getting worse and worse as it went on. The ending completely killed all enjoyment out of the movie and really stopped it from being a classic. Best Parts Will Smith: fantastic character all around and the biggest star in the movie. I really loved all his songs and jokes. 10/10 The Songs (not Jasmine): Friend Like Me and Pricne Ali were by far the two best songs in the movie. It was terrific to see how much energy Will Smith and the cast put together to create these. 10/10 One Jump Ahead- this was a great song as well. I loved how they stayed true to the movie but still made some small changes that made sense. 9/10 Whole New World: pretty standard I don't think there is a way to beat the original but they tried hard and showed good emotion 8/10 Worst Parts: Jazmine's Songs: completely unnecessary and just made the movie drag on. I didn't understand what the point of her two songs were. 2/10 Jafar: Jafar was lame as frick. This is supposed to be one of the most bad ass villains ever and they completely screwed him. He never even seemed like a good threat to anyone. The fact that they didn't have a villain song is unacceptable. His song was what was looking forward to the most and it was just brush over it. 3/10 The ending: by God how could they botch an ending the way they did. After the no villian song, I thought they could redeem it with the awesome fight at the end with Aladdin and Jafar then the snake. They had a small chase with the lamp and it was over... Serious underwhelming stuff. I couldn't believe my eyes when I finally realized that's how they are going to end it... 1/10 Aladdin: I really liked the actor and he did a great job for what he had to work with but he never had a chance to show his cleverness and braveness during the movie. Part of it is related to the ending scene that I mentioned up above, I felt like he was never even given a chance with no fight scenes at all. 5/10 The friend, Iago, the guards, the sultan were all bad too. 4/10 All in all, the movie was not great and only a few parts made it good and enjoyable. Not only did they keep the lamp intact, but Jafar even said that they hadn't seen the last of him (something I don't believe he said in the original movie).
