Kinda at the point where I gotta plan my future

I really dont want to take out a mortgage, they honestly seem like a trap to me

Even though I can see myself renting for the rest of my life, it feels like itd be missing out in an experience considering I know very few people IRL who actually own a home (no pool parties, crazy man caves, etc)

Hell if it were possible (affordable)to build a home on my own I would, but it honestly looks like this generation was not meant to have these luxuries unless you are upper middle class from the start

You could build your own home, but you'll have to accept that you simply aren't going to be able to afford land anywhere within an hour of a major city. If you're okay going more rural, the option exists.

Shit man, I'd settle for just a two bedroom apartment without roommates. Where I can use the other room for hobbies.

And even still, you're going to be spending a shit-ton of money on land, electrical/gas lines, data lines, water/sewer lines, construction, and all the upkeep needed.

I don't think mortgages are traps. You are already paying rent (or possibly someone else's mortgage).

Make sure you have a good credit score. Go to a bank, get a good rate on a mortgage, take that to another bank, and ask them to beat it. Do that a couple of times until it's something you can easily manage.
