One of the most precious things in life, is a challenge. Those who get in the way of being challenged are the real enemy.

If you're not effected, then you're going to have a hard time arguing for the side and risk making them seem ingenuine as a group.

What I hate is when they refuse your support just because you dont agree on all points. Like I can at least support you in what we do agree upon. Even more stupid when what we dont agree on has nothing to do with what I want to support. Like for example gay rights but I happen to have a conservavtive ideal or two like pro gun rights.

I'll admit I was worried it was going to be one of those weird things like 'I support gay rights but not trans people'.

I mean people don't have to like everything about you, no offense, a lot of people don't like everything about their friends even. I don't understand not wanting support fully, but I don't know every conservative view you have either so I can't really dissect that either.

Personally, the only 'allies' that bother me are people who actually don't care and legit are saying they're allies to look good. And trust me, it does happen.

That and how _____-phobia is used by some as almost a buzzword to win an argument. They're making the people in whatever group look bad by attacking any and everyone like that. It doesn't help. Best case it's someone meaning well, but there's also people just trying to look good there. They usually turn on people that aren't 'the right kind' of whatever group they're 'protecting' as well over any and every little thing.

Yes there's homophobic people, yest there's transphobic people, yes there's misogynists. Yes, they do exist. Accusing everyone of it over every little thing and pulling some 'no true Scotsman' crap is just...ughhh...

I'm just... tired. We're more divided than ever. The world is hard and cruel, and some of that is our making as humans. We make things harder on each other.

Not really? It only takes understanding of things to think something is unfair. Sometimes it takes people outside of a group to get the group rights, as people often don't want to listen to people IN the group affected. That's sadly how the world works.

And people IN the group don't want to be represented by somebody OUT of the group.

Imagine negotiating but a third party has to represent you who only partly knows you. They may make a deal that's in your favour, but they may sacrifice one of your uncrossable dealbreakers to do it. When dealing with an US v THEM situation, everyone who isn't US is THEM.
