The Entertainment Software Association has found that the average american gamer is 33 YEARS OLD and many of them like to play on their SMARTPHONE!!

The average gamer is also spending more on games every year with 20% more than a year ago and 85% more than in 2015.

ESA represents the computer software and gaming companies. Ipsos, also questioned 4000 gamers for the ESA report.

In the US, more than 164 million play video games which is roughly 65% of ALL US Adults. The most popular is the casual game that are simple rules and don't require much time or skill

American gamers spend around 43 billion on gaming and most of that was to buy games not computer hardware or gaming accessories.

The most popular games were Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Red Dead Redemption 3 and NBA 2K19.

Video Games are striking a chord with american culture as it provides them with mental activity to escape their work or other day to day pressures.

It also found that 46% of them were FEMALE although they like games different from the boys and men..

Americans will soon be able to play even more games as Apple and Google have announced plans to launch gaming streaming services, particularly Google's Stadia

This is another one of those "anyone who has candy crush installed on their phone is a gamer" studies.

And then you have people who have trouble understanding context rushing in to claim you're gatekeeping.

Kinda like this but I would like to see how broad the average womans games goes (like how many games/genres) cause my step sisters play video gamea but aside from elder scrolls and sims its mostly indie games like stardew valley (and even counting those the amount of games I play/have played dwarfs what they do) Not saying they arent gamers but its still kind of a different level.

it's so high because they count shit like angry birds and fruit ninja as "gamers".

Your average zelda/final fantasy/mortal kombat/dead or alive/call of duty/DOOM/mario player is at least 60% male

"Gamer" is simply an unuseful moniker when you combine smartphone and console together. I mean, the groups are pretty much mutually disgusted with each other.
