My reasons for this are:

a. The conditions that America exists in by 2020 probably won't be more than a little different than 2016.

b. The people elligible to vote in 2020 will be roughly the same people from 2016.

You could make several arguments, like all the stupid decisions that Trump has made, and all the stuff he's probably reneged on...but people don't seem to care about that. Scary.

Thoughts on all this?

Of course people don't care. I wouldn't be surprise if he got another term. In fact he probably will with the group the dems pick and then we might get Don Jr. later on because 'muh Trump' dynasty. If I wanted a 'muh Trump' dynasty I will vote for the daughter and Tiffany.

Trump will get another term sadly.

Dems are a mess

Everyone is talking about Trump 24/7 all day every day

That's awareness and noterity you can't buy.

Sanders and Biden and Clinton spend billions to get a 1/145th of the media coverage Trump gets for free

He's won

At this moment I think he will win. While I think it depends on who runs honestly I see Bernie losing and I see Biden losing and those two are the ones in the lead right now.

Though it is too early to tell.

The other issue is that Trump doesnt even need a majority of the vote to win. Lets say he has 45% approval rating which means 55% disapproval:

The dem candidate can get 44% of the vote and lose the rest to TP, write ins, or lack of voter turnout

You're right.

1) the democrats decided to be dumb and have like 21 people running, it's stupid as hell.
2) Berniebros have decided that if "a corporatist/globalist/neocon" (read - anybody not bernie or a socialist like that) wins the primary they will stay at home and not vote
3) Russia now has the green light to intervene in the elections, in 2016 they couldn't have been that obvious about i
4) there will be a lot of voter suppression and intimidation

if he wins 2020 he may try to rewrite the constitution or have the new alt-right scotus come up with some POS interpretation of the law to target certain groups based on their religion/ethnicity/sexual preference and get rid of them

Hillary set that up for 2016 in the first place. The left needs to get the press to ignore him if they want a chance.

People were told if Trump won in 2016 it would be the end of the country as we know it. It would be war, or total economic collapse, or both. Conditions in 2020 being roughly equivalent to 2016 is practically a marketing point for him at this point, because it shows how badly people were crying wolf.

Trump wont win

Reminder that he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, and an additional 7 million went to third party candidates

We now know that Trump has a chance of winning, so the people that stayed home or voted third party spoilers wont make the same mistake

So even though he won last time despite nearly 10 million more people voting against him than for him, I believe Americans wont make that same mistake again

It all depends on who the dems run.

If they run someone who is pretty much just an identity, aka she is a woman and we need a woman president, Trump wins.

If they run someone who has opinions many liberals love yet they piss off moderates and conservatives, Trump wins. Stuff like white privilege being talked about too much.

If they run someone who is basically. "I am not Trump, fuck Trump, vote for me". Trump probably wins. He has a harder fight imo vs. This guy than the two above.

If they run someone who appears like a normal person and has a platform that resonates, Trump loses.

The last one is honestly Bernie.

its the country's mantra that divided we fall and we are gonna do that together. we will fall down long enough to rise again one way or another. only when we hit rock bottom are we ready for the greatest of change.

I mean the 2020 candidate, because this is a topic about the 2020 election. A lot of people ITT, including the OP, seem to be assuming Trump will win on the basis of his 2016 performance, but there were other factors beyond him in that race.

Trump will win in 2020 because the entire media won't stop talking about him for 35 minutes.

Doesn't matter who the Dems run, it's impossible to compete against that. Everyone in America above the age of 4 knows who Donald Trump is.

That's almost unheard of. In America he's on the shortlist of names like Jesus and Hitler that no matter who you are, you know who he is. Even if you don't care about him.

Most of those people don't like him, though. There's more to electoral politics than name recognition; Roy Moore had plenty of that and lost.

Like, I don't think it's a sure thing that Democrats will win; Biden seems intent on repeating a lot of the tactical errors of Hillary in trying to treat Trump as something separate from the GOP. But the "Trump is guaranteed victory in 2020" takes have a very lazy quality to them.

If Roy Moore got Trumps coverage AND the election was open to every adult in America, he would have won by a landslide.
