Seriously doesn't matter if you have money, games, can travel you get bored quick without working. I don't want to drink or finish my games(trying to finish Lunar for the psp) and going to Florida next week to chill but I just want to work again. I'm really bored, been so bored I been lurking here too much.

Yup. And it is a real blow to your ego when you don't get a follow-up to a minimum wage job application when looking for work either. Makes you wonder if there is something wrong with you, or if they are wary about hiring somebody in their mid 40's for an entry level position.

I've been on leave for like two weeks now and yeah I feel kinda weird. I have done a few chores around the house and stuff, finished the Van Helsing games, finished two of the Assassin Creed games, watched a lot of TV. Still feel kinda weird.

I've been tempted to just take a day trip to West Virginia just to see the Mothman shit >_>

Dude, it was a month now and I power wash my house(which was fun acting like a ghost buster), all the cleanup chores around the house, painted the deck, mow the lawn two time a week and use the weed wacker for the edges it couldn't reach, and beat whole crap of RPG(right now on lunar).

About 11 years ago I was unemployed for like 18 months.

The first month or two doing nothing and collecting my unemployment was alright.

But then it starts to get old.

You'll start to feel bored and worthless.

You'll just find yourself trying and finding any nick-nack thing to do.

I'd be awake in the early morning hours and sit on my porch having a cup and smoke and watch the neighbors all warm up their cars and head off to work leaving me all alone.

I don't experience this. If I had the money to do so, I would retire immediately. Have more than enough hobbies and other personal endeavors to keep myself entertained for decades. I can't remember the last time I sat around bored, would probably have been 15 years ago or more, back when I was in middle or elementary and lacked the resources to dive into things. Having access to the internet really eliminated boredom as a problem for me.

False, that's only true if you don't have hobbies or need money.

I think it's pretty obvious that he's talking about if you need money. Most people on this board aren't going to be retiring soon so I think that's a given and a qualifier that doesn't need to be mentioned.

Obviously if I didn't have to worry about money, not working would be awesome, but yeah, the reality is that it's hard to enjoy it knowing you need to find some way to get back on your feet.

Yeah but I mean how much money? I had saved up enough to make it a few years, but that didn't mean much to me, it's not like I felt like I was set and could just do whatever I want. Unless I was truly retired I don't think I could stay satisfied not working.
