Unless you were actually honorable and beat games fair and square

It all started when my mom bought me a codebreaker disk for PS2

Dark Cloud 1

Used cheats to get unlimited money so i wouldnt have to farm upgrade materials.

Maximo ghost to glory
Used a code to keep all my combat upgrades upon dying. Didnt like how I would lose all of them if you died.

Rollercoaster

Unlimited money and customer satisfaction so I can build anything I want lol

Metal Gear Solid.

ended up skipping more than half the game, iirc, because I used the Game Genie to give me the level 6 key card.

I also played a little Final Fantasy 7, but it wasn't for me. but when I played, I used the cheat that leveled you up really quickly, so maybe an hour into the game, I was already at level 99.

The first game I ever used cheats to beat was Tony Hawk 2, and that was really just a timesaving measure. I had already done everything there is to do with several of the skaters, and just figured I'd speed it up for the rest. So it wasn't really ruined.

The second game I ever used cheats to beat was Battletoads and Double Dragon on SNES. Game was hard af. It was also a timesaving measure since I didn't want to spend the next couple weeks practicing before I could beat it legitimately, but this really kinda did ruin he game since I took all the challenge out lol. That was just last year, I think.

Now there are a couple more games I've used exploits on, like pause spamming tough S Ranks in the Battle Network games or save stating at the start of every level in a few old Genesis games where game over is back to start but frankly I don't feel like those ruined the experience. In the case of BN, it was so hard it stopped being fun, and in the case of the Genesis games, who the hell wants to deal with that crap?

I still haven't beaten Warcraft 2 legitimately, because I discovered the cheat codes in it. I bought it on GOG, so I should get back to it at some point.

Ironically, the games that I haven't use cheat codes for, despite them being some of the most readily available ones, are any of the GTA games.

In GTA:SA I used the riot cheat which messes up with one of the mandatory missions in the game, making it impossible to complete.
